A Model Conductor For A New Era

As classical music changes, so do the needs of its constituents. The responsibilities embodied with a traditional music director are rapidly changing. Rising to meet those needs is the principal guest conductor; a position that requires a consummate musician to assume artistic responsibility but without the sweeping powers associated with a conventional music director. With a career spanning four decades, Christof is the embodiment of the ideal principal guest conductor.

Artistic Balance

Au fait in symphonic or opera settings, Christof has developed a distinctive balance in each artistic medium. A seemingly simple concept, balance between opera and symphonic repertoire is a challenging goal and one only a handful of conductors accomplish.
